#3 The String-A-Longs – Wheels

This cool and pleasant music is the biggest hit of the instrumental The String-A-Longs (the only one that reached the top ten). One of the two rythm guitarists was Keith McCormack, co-writer of Sugar Shack of Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs (1963).
Billy Vaughn covered Wheels in a really close way the same year, reaching the first place of the German charts. It was also covered by Chet Atkins, by Joe Loss as Wheels Cha Cha in the UK and by Marcel Amont in a vocal version as Dans le coeur de ma blonde (in the heart on my blond). Also by Johnny Duncan in a vocal version
A special seventy cover and by Hot Butter draw my attention. Whohouw, so fun.
